My transfer rate from copying files from my computer to my external harddrive is really slow like 2.70MB/sec. I have a WD 1TB Essential and I am running Oleg 1.9.2.7-10 firmware. Any way to speed things up?

no, that's just the speed of the disk:(
at good times, I get 4,1mb/s max
but usually about 2mb/s

Hi there,

I must disagree. I've just bought a similar WD Essential USB drive, and I chose
it because its speed.

The transfer rate is quite good beetween the PC and the external drive (read: ~30000 kB/s, ~20000 kB/s)... except when I copy files dowloaded with transmission to the PC (~3000-4000 kB/s). Is it possible that the low transfer rate is caused by the method transmission uses to write the files to the disk which may cause fragmentation? I know version 1.40 improved to prevent file fragmentation...

So, I find it quite strange. Any ideas about the issue?

TIA,
RW

The asus is just not powerful enough to handle higher USB speeds. max 4MB/sec is what you will be stuck with
