Opinions on original ASUS fw

Hello!

I have updated the FW on my Asus Wl-500gP v2 with DD-WRT, and everything works fine, except I cannot use neither the download manager nor the USB port, and my printer is not supported. :( :(

Has anyone tried using the original Asus FW for this router?

I have read that the original FW sucks, that is not stable, lacks functionality..... But I am asking you - DOES IT WORK?

It will not help you with your printer. Moreover, it is intended behavior. Somewhere on hp site you may find a statment that hp1018 can not work through print servers.

But what about download manager and USB hard disk support?
DD-WRT is complicated to configure, i am not familiar with instaling scripts, etc....
