some basic questions about wl-hdd firmware / sources / oleg's fw

sorry for some - maybe simple / stupid - questions ...

What about the different firmwares for wl-hdd, wl300 and wl500 ... why same firmware (maybe oleg's) for different hardware (router, wl-hardrive, ...) ?

- I got the GPLed 128 from ASUS ...

- I saw the page of oleg ... speaking about individual fw ... how to configure the compile for different hardware with same sources?

- How different is the hardware of wl300 wl500 wl-hdd? I saw this doc in GPL128 from asus about the hardware!

- Is it possible to post some basic infos about hardware / software of the asus products ... differences / equality of hardware / frmware ...
