Just bought an WL-HDD and I cannot get access from my Windows XP to the Configuration page using wired LAN. I am asked to enter a usercode/password; admin/admin does not work. Using wireless I can see the connection, but it is secured and I do not know the WEP key.

Please help me, I am stucked

Holding down the reset button for 20 seconds, does not help. Up untill now I have tried "everything" to get access; FTP does not work either, I get disconnected right away.

I am running out of ideas; I am afraid restoring firmware will also mean the end of everything :( Returning the box to my reseller is the only thing I can think of. Please proof me wrong!!!

Your IP has to be something like 192.168.1.X, (X not to be 1, and less than 250)
Download the orig. FW (take care of your model)from AsusHP.
Open the Firmware restoration util,
Pull the Powercord on your WL
Push the Reset Button and power on your WL (PWR starts flashing)
It goes to recovery mode
Now upload the FW
Your WL should reboot

Now you should acces it trough your browser:
type in the adress http://192.168.1.1

Did it work? :)

I did a reset to the orginal settings, which helped. You need to keep the reset button pressed for quite some time at least 20 secs, before it resets itself. Now I am up and running. Thanks for your help anayway. :)
