WL-500g und Netgear MA401 WLAN Problem

Hi,
nutze seit Jahren Oleg's fimrware V 1.7.5.9-5 in meinem WL-500g.
Hatte bisher WLAN ausgeschaltet ("Wireless-Advanced-Enable Radio? No").
Möchte nun WLAN aktivieren, um einen älteren Lapto Toshiba Tecra mit einer Netgear MA401 WLAN-PCMCIA-Karte mit dem WL-500g zu verbinden.

Habe alles Mögliche probiert, aber bekomme keine Verbindung.

ASUS-Menu "Wireless":
Set Wireless-Advanced-Enable Radio? to Yes.
Set Authentication Method to "Open System or Shared Key".
Set Encryption to "None".
Set Basic Rate Set to "All".
Set the rest to "Auto".

Could not set Operation mode, always resets to "Access Point".
Could not set Client mode, always resets to "Infrastructure".

ASUS-Menu "Wireless Firewall":
Set Enable Wireless Firewall to "No".
Set Enable DHCP Server to "Yes".
Set Enable WLAN vs. WAN filter to "No".
Set Enable WLAN vs. LAN filter to "No".


Netgear MA401 allows these configuration options:
Mode: "802.11 AdHoc" or "Infrastructure", tried both without success.
SSID: "ANY" (default) or user input (tried "TEST" here and at WL-500g, without success)
Encryption: "Disabled" or "64 Bit" or "128 Bit", set it to Disabled.

Set "AdHoc" and channel 11 on Netgear and Asus, without success.
Tried WEP with 64bit and same key on both devices, without success.

Well, I would suggest a factory reset on your asus.
Next is to scan for wireless networks on your notebook and connect to
yours. Maybe you have to install a new driver for your netgear card.
