HP Deskjet 3743 with WL-500B

I have the asus WL-500B and one laptop with winxp and one laptop with mac os x 10.3 i bought the wl-500B for 650RMB $80US. But printer sharing does not work I followed antiloops instructions to the exact in LPR and RAW mode, and the instructions for mac os x, but still no luck, it just won't print. Should i change my firmware to olegs? or stick the latest asus?

I also have a Seagate 300GB backup device USB2.0 i wanted to know if i can hook that up to the asus, it has MAC OS HFS Extended partitions on it, can that be mounted or read by the asus or samba?

No, reformat it with vfat or ext3.
