Bekijk de volledige versie : mac to local ip in AP-mode with oleg?
I am tired of constantly changing my local ip's on my laptops, ps3, soundbridge, pda etc..
I often use a public wifi so everytime i want to acces such I have to set my laptop etc. to autorecieve an ip from DHCP. when i get back home i have to change it back to it's static local ip.
Are there anyway my WL500gp (as AP) could release local ip's according to a specific mac address?
Regards Rasmus
Sure, look on ipconfig/dhcp server.
Enable the Assign IP Address Manually then put your macs and ip together.
All this on web interface.
I don't use the Asus as router, only as Access Point so I wouldn't have that option.
Then,
in the router where your dhcp server resides, enter the mac-addresses from the devices to get an ip lease/address.
My router, Zyxel 2602r, doesn't have that option...
then,
disable dhcp on the Zyxel 2602r and enable it on the asus.
That would result in double routing. I am trying to avoid that. But I guess the only solution would be to change ISP. The one I have now only comes with router and not modem only...
can't you put your zyxel in some pass-through mode?
so that you can use the routing functionality of the asus?
this way.. the asus would have it's public ip on the WAN port.
Or do you have voip/vodsl on the zyxel?
in this case you need the routing on the zyxel.
perhaps a firmware update of the zyxel gives you those capabilities..

are u using your asus as wireless client?
which encrytion?
