Look here: http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/134 :D

There is also a FAQ in it. I guess it should say that, before you try to edit rc.local, you should have read http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/187

Maybe Kfurge can add this to his neat FAQ list.

Marc

Thank You.
It works very well!!! :D
I have only one question:
If I use "sudo bash -l" my system takes an error like "username is not in the sudoers file.....". Where can I found this file? Can I edit this sudoers file and how?

I have found this: http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/84
But I dont want to have my username with administrative functions, I want to make it like a normal user. How can I do that?

Kfurge, I have answered so many questions like this (Goodness! I like to edit rc.local, and guess... it does not work! Verrry strange! How come?), that I think it would be nice to have this question (sort of) in your FAQ.
I always answer with some variety of this:

"before you try to edit rc.local, you should have read http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/187"

I don't think that the questions will disappear, but at least I could link them to the FAQ.

Thanks a lot,
Regards,
Marc

How about this... Check out the latest revision of

http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/187

which now points you to the FAQ.

FWIW, The FAQ already had this in it: Q. I've really messed up my rc.local and now my router won't boot. How can I fix it?

Dear KFurge, I really appreciate your effort. But, pointing to the FAQ at the very place where it is described what to do to get a writable /opt directory, and having a FAQ-entry about a messed up rc.local is, i.m.h.o., a step too far.

The problem really is that some people like to mess up their rc.local, but can't update the rc.local, because they missed http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/187

Rather I would like to see a FAQ-entry about this:
"I can't edit my rc.local, how come?"
Just installing the firmware gives you a read-only version of /opt. If you want to change anything, you should start here http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/187

Or sort of.

Marc
