Hi,
I've noticed that my wl500g gives me these throughtputs:
0,5 Mbyte/s in ftp mode (via usb 1.1). This is achieved when I download a file from my usb stick (connected via usb to my wl500g) to my wireless laptop.
and 2,5 Mbyte/s (practical max for 54g mode) when downloading the same file from my wirered pc (conected via lan to my wl500g) to the same wireless laptop than above.
I would like to know if a wl-hdd connected on wl500g via lan port could also give 2,5Mbyte/s to my wireless laptop? And of course something like 12,5 Mbyte/s (ethernet theorical throughtput) to my wirered pc?
And, alternatively, could we hope that wl500gx will give 2,5Mbytes/s in ftp mode (via usb 2.0) in next fw release?
Your answers should help me to make the best choice for a cheap file sharing solution on my lan (without having to run a pc server permanently).
Thanks.
