Hoping for some enlightenment over WL-138s. I want to buy some the same as in a new Dell Vista machine we have here as it gives excellent reception, (unlike some other cards here!).
The Dell card shows as a "Broadcom 802.11G" device in device mgr and it has both "WL-138G V2 R3.01" AND "WL-138gE R1.41" printed on it.
This confuses me as the cards I see on the ASUS site are either 138G V2 OR 138gE. Our Internet stores show them separately as well (the gE is dearer).
I also tried the card in an XP machine and downloaded a gE dvr for it. It performed extremely well.
Is the Dell card a dual one? Will I see a difference between a G V2 and a gE working to a WAG200G? Should I get the dearer ($NZ40 v $NZ30) gE?
TIA.
Lindsay.
