Bekijk de volledige versie : slow WLAN
I use my router 54g mode with two HP 54g wlan card. If i copy between the two computers the file transfer speed is max 500 kb/sec. I think this is not normal. The signal strenght is all the computers excellent. I don't use wep or wpa. My router fimware number is: 9.8.2.1
I don't know what is the problem. Please help me. :(
Your firmware is beta, which dumps lot of debug info. So, either upgrade to 1.9.2.7 or downgrade to 1.8.1.7.
I upgrade 1.9.2.7, but the speed is same, 500 Kb/sec. :(
Yesterday I try my lan another two cards and antennas, but nothing.
I attach my card packet statistic, i think the retried frames is to much.
Try switching your wireless channel...
I try, but the another channels is in use, and the bandwith is more slower.
I buy cables :(
All 13 channels? Try running netstumbler and check which channels are in use, and if you've all channels occupied - choose the one with the lowest signal level.
The only free channel is the 4 and sometime the 3. I use the 4, but the speed is slow. I found a new driver for my wlan card /01.15.05/, but the problem is same. Too many dropped and retried packet.
Fragmentation treshold, RPS treshold, DTIM Intervall, Beacon Intervall tuning?

please set channel to 11 or 13 and try again
do not care that they are 'taken', but test it
Antiloop: I try the channel 11. The speed is slow.
This is the network stumbler scan:
What is your actual signal strength in dBm (A), and what is the RX sensitivity for a 54 Mbps connection for your cards (B)? A - B should be 10 or more for a good connection. (example; -71dBm - (-83dBm) = 12 )
Are your wireless clients by chance in the same room as your WL-500g?
You may try a few more channels, for me channel 7 turned out to give the best connection even though it's generally not free.
Brubber: No chance for the same room.
I try all the channels.
My actual signal strength is 31?

OK, that rules out some obvious problems
Another remark, based on your current power level and the available power levels for the different protocols it seems you are currently using the 802.11a protocol, however the frequency shows that this is not actually true. Perhaps this discrepancy causes some problems
Did you fix the speed on your router? You may try fixing it on the connection speed below 36 Mbps. Also choosing a different power level for your card (if this is possible) may help
Also please note that even with a 54 Mbps connection you can get roughly 1Mb/s actual data transfer speed for file transfers between different wireless clients with WL-500g, so your values are not too bad, certainly when both clients are on a wireless connection.
The number of frame errors is indeed quite high. Perhaps changing the MaxMTU setting for your wireless card may improve this somewhat.

Do a site survey and see what other AP's are availiable and might interfear with your AP.
802.11g is more prone (due to its transmition characteristics) to reduced throughput if other AP's are transmiting in the same or near channels (even in 802.11b).
(don't forget that channels in 802.11b/g share a large portion of the frequencies with each other)

Could you please tell how to get advanced properties of the card?
What utilities to use out there?
I have max 25 Mbps on my 54Mbps connection, with notebook standing next to the router
