Hi users,

I have a new Wl-500gP v2 and after initial setup I have always my sytem time set to 1st Jan 1970.

I've set my time zone to GMT (Lisbon) and after reboot there was no change to system time.

Any ideas why this happens?

Thks

How do you check? Go to "Status & Log"/"Status" and see what it says.

How did you set it? Go to "IP Config"/"Miscellaneous", set the Time Zone, then pick an NTP server below. time.nist.gov is a good safe bet, but look for others (http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Servers/WebHome) to take the strain off that one. Then hit "Apply" and "Finish" to reboot with that setting.

After I made all settings on NTP server, I verified the Status&Log and it continues to not update.

The time stamp after reboot is always: 1st Jan 1970

Maybe you're not getting through to the time server for some reason. Maybe your ISP filters some ports for example.

Try it on your PC, if you have XP for example, go to the clock settings and try the "Internet Time" tab or whatever it's called. If you make that work it should work for the Asus too.

If you open a command line on your PC and write "ping time.nist.gov" what do you get?

Ping is done and reply back.

But no way and ASUS system time is not updated.
Time zone in Windows is ok!

Try some other timeservers then, I guess.

mine is the other way around
the windows machines can't update their time, but asus does...

what is your ntp server?
you might choose a different one from this list:
http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Servers/StratumOneTimeServers
maybe it's good to pick one from europe, like germany (DE), then choose for an OpenAccess server;)
