I have my WL500gP from internet auction. It has serial number 64IEACxxxxxx. I use OpenWRT 7.09 Kamikaze.
I can't use it with all ram activated.

root@OpenWrt:~# free
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 14304 10996 3308 0 1044
Swap: 0 0 0
Total: 14304 10996 3308

When I use settings:

nvram set sdram_init=0x0009
nvram set sdram_ncdl=0x10308
router always is bricked after reboot. I can bring it to life using pin 9 trick and using wl500g-clear-nvram.trx and wl500g-recover.trx files. (set sdram_ncdl=0 do the same).

Currenty I use settings:

set sdram_init=0x000b
set sdram_ncdl=0

and i get:

root@OpenWrt:~# nvram show | grep sdram
size: 1631 bytes (31137 left)
sdram_config=0x0062
sdram_refresh=0x0000
sdram_ncdl=0x307
sdram_init=0x000b

Please help me with activation of 32MB RAM.

It is very useful to have serial console attached to your asus box. Then you can see some messages during startup of CFE and even enter to CFE with ctrl+c to dig for some details.

How does your "brick" look like? Any leds blinking? Maybe your box boot but you just don't see any errors on output?

I bought my wl500gp on internet auction as well but with 66IEACxxxxxx SN.
I'm fighting with sdram settings for half year and can't find a solution.
And at the moment I susspect RAM errors from 2nd chip.

You can see example of CFE output in my old thread:

Może przejdźmy na język ojczysty będzie nam (przynajmniej mnie) łatwiej sie porozumieć. :)

Proponuję kontakt mailowy. Mam skrzynkę na Gmailu, login: mszymonik.
