Why does php-mysql require mysql to be installed? I currently have 3 servers installed that I am not actually running. mysqld, rsyncd, and sshd (from openssh) due to software that I needed. The sole exception it appears is mysqld where it does absolutely nothing other than provide a mysql interface to some of the remote servers I access. I installed php-mysql to access remotely hosted mysql databases.
