Hi guys...

I've asked Oleg about this, he says there were some info on this alredy on the forum, but I can't seem to find it.
So, here's the problem.
First, the classic WAN port death, that was soon treated with a nice 1927-2,3 firmware.
However, the router stayed online for about 12 hours, but after 10 minutes of listening to an online radio station, the router started to reset. Every 10-30 minutes or so. Would come back online and everything was working fine for another couple of minutes.
As Oleg suggested, I downgraded to 1.8.1.7-3 firmware, and since then, the router was stable, everything is working fine, no more WAN deaths, no more resets. But I would really like to limit the download/upload speed of some users, but the 1.8.1.7-3 firmware does not support this.
Any ideas to solve the reset problem? With the 19xx firmware?

Not that it should matter, I use a LanCity cable modem (fixed IP), 10half speed (seems to work best) link to the wl-500g router, 100full to a 3com officeconnect switch, and from there to about 4-7 users at any given time. Wireless radio is switched off, so is UPNP, etc. Most of the computers are using fixed local IP addresses.

Any ides very welcome.

LP

PS: Where are you from, Oleg? I gotta buy you a beer next time I'm in the 'hood. :) All the work you've put into this... little box with a.... bunch of lights and... a stickie thingie. ;)

You can use the wondershaper script to limit speeds to certain ip addresses. Search the forum for 'wondershaper', the stuff you request has come up more then once.
