Hello all,

I've been reading a lot about the problem with the incorrect resistor placed on the Asus board of the WL500 Premium.

The problem is that I don't know if my lousy wireless signal is caused by this or not.
I have recently also replaced the antenna and bought an ANT-150 from Asus but no changes there (I only have coverage in the same room as the AP in my house)

I read a lot on this forum regarding the problem stated in the subject but I'd like to know how I can identify if my device has it.
I can't physically read the serial number on it as it is "glued" to the wall and if I remove it I will also remove part of the wall painting.
Before doing this I want to make sure that I need to change the resistor on it.

Can you help in figuring this one out? (maybe with some nvram show commands that can provide identifiers ? )

What I've seen so far is:
ezc_version=2
hardware_version=WL500gp-01-02-00-00
os_version=4.151.10.16
firmver=1.9.2.7
pmon_ver=CFE 3.91.7.0

Thanks,
Mihai

Hmm I already went through that topic.

My unit is made in July.
Oleg said that all units since August but the official Asus communicate (in another thread) said that all units manufactured before July 2007...so that is why I am not sure.

Can you help clarifying this ?

wl noise gives -92.

Later on edit...

Before updating firmware with wl noise I had:
0 (off)

Now I get the -92 from above which seems to show I have the incorrect resistor.

Thanks.

I have an wl500W with maximum wireless power.
The maximum doesnt really give much power in real life, but the signal stays more stable.
when I go for wl noise I get -90
so what does that prove something?:confused:
