hello,
i just bought a Asus WL500g Premium router and im playing with it since yesterday. I managed to put 1.9.27-10 firmware on it but im a but dissapointed of its kernel bloatness so i would like to recompile the kernel to not support ipv6 and other useless functions for me.
how do i do that?
i have read the "http://wiki.wl500g.info/index.php/compilingcustomfirmware" page but seems buggy and a lot of things seem to not apply anymore.
so basically i would like to optimize my router's firmware to allow the best routing (without nat) environment for 3,4 PCs and 30-40 Mbit/sec traffic. qos enabled, maybe a very light webserver on the router..
any ideas or hints? a better place to read on?

basically i would like to:
1. eliminate options compiled in kernel which i dont need (and i would like the CPU to be used only at what i need to do, nothing more)
2. eliminate ipv6
3. install some few additional software..
so far i tried the howto at: http://wiki.wl500g.info/index.php/compilingcustomfirmware
which unfortunately is very poorly written and very buggy and i got nothing after few hours of retrying, hacking, modifying, customizing, installing..
