The Asus is capable of VPN passthrough, there are no configuration options for that needed so there's no page either. If you think the Asus supports VPN endpoints you are mistaken: it does not.

I've just got openvpn running on 500g :-) The binary is 2MB, so it does not fit directly in memory, but memory sticks is OK... I have just tested the static key, but I am going to replace the whole WEP mess with openvpn...

Hey Ondrap is it possible for you to write a how to post and upload some binaries?

i was playing with tinc (http://www.tinc-vpn.org/) (another VPN tool) a bit, but since I'm not experienced enough with compiling device drivers (tap/tun), I'm stuck.

So I am also interested in binaries/howto's

I'm interested in VPN-support for the WL-500g...

Currently I'm working to make it talk IPv6, and when I'm done with it, I was planning to look into making CIPE work on the device. Since it doesn't require much resources, it might run nicely.

I'll keep in touch...

I just noticed an openvpn package in the Unslung repository... It won't run, though.

Sun Apr 10 18:50:48 2005 Note: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)
Sun Apr 10 18:50:48 2005 Note: Attempting fallback to kernel 2.2 TUN/TAP interface
Sun Apr 10 18:50:48 2005 Cannot allocate TUN/TAP dev dynamically

... same problem mentioned here.

Found this:
http://puma.spojovaci.net/~jaha2x/wl500/modules/drivers/net/tun.o

insmod tun.o

Seems to work...

(aka, the WL-500g has a working--while "non-standard" I suppose--VPN!)

Hopefully I will include tun support in the next release.
