Hello

I want to buy WL500gP and run Openwrt or other Linux on it. I have a possibility to buy version V1 and V2. I heard that V1 has problems with transfers to connected USB hard drives and V2 is not fully suported by Openwrt.

Which version of this hardware would you choose and why?

Thanks for your replies :)

Sorry for my English ;)

But is there really some problems with transfers to connected USB HDD?

I've read many posts, and some people say that there is problem with transfers and others say that everything is ok.

What is the truth?

I own 2 asus wl500gpV1 and I never experienced any problems, except running as fileserver with heavy load (As we are talking about a router, this should never happen).

One is used as AP and file, ftp and webserver with 2 hdds (250GB, 30GB), 2 USB Sticks (128MB&2GB) and an usb hub with own power supply.
Second is used as wireless INET access in my car with a usb Huawei E220 Modem and a file server with 2,5" 30GB hdd.
Everything is very stable with olegs fw and koppel fw (adapted olegs fw).
Can't tell you much about V2. My brother owns a V2 without probs.
