Firmware upgrade 1.9.2.7-8 -> 1.9.2.7-10

I'd like to update my WL-500gP to latest 1.9.2.7-10 rel, but I have a couple of doubts, I hope someone could help me:

I read on 1.9.2.7-9:

everything is mounted to /tmp/mnt

What does this means ? It doesn't mount on /opt as previous rels ?
I have all my intalled softwares pointing to /opt subdirs with absolute paths...

I have installed using ipkg vsftpd and samba2.
As I can see now are both included in fw. Should I remove it before upgrade firmware ?

Can I save old firmware settings and flashfs and restore it in new firmware ?

everything is mounted to /tmp/mnt


It means everything gets mounted under /tmp/mnt instead of /tmp/harddisk, unless you use fstab, or remount the disks manually in post-boot

I can't speak for version 10 yet, but when moving to version 9, I didn't have to backup anything. All settings were preserved automaticaly
