New solution for browsing your router ana editing files

Hi to all the interested members WinSCP is the application I managed to find, it's a free SFTP and FTP client for Windows users only you can find it at http://winscp.net/eng/download.php

You can use it for browsing your router and you can easily find files and edit them for your needs, you don't have to edit files via putty which i found difficult :( and managed to find this wonderful application try it you will like it.

Just don't forget at the WinSCP login to set up your host name or IP address of your router, port number 22, your user and passwd and IMPORTANT change the protocol to SCP if you experience connection problems and you might want to save your settings (to don't do that all over again next time).

hmm... I don't have any probs with editing files.
When I'm not at home I use putty with midnight commander to easily move and edit files (it even searches files, it's almoast like windows, you can use the mouse too)
when I'm at home I always use samba and notepad to edit files:p

Further, most of us are using winscp and/or putty for quite a long time.
But I prefer console to move/copy any file/dirs to any folder.
And when you have samba (almost everybody), then you can create a simple network-share in your smb.conf with the simplest possible access, just browse with your windows-explorer, thats all.
Winscp is not bad, but it takes a too long time to start it. But from time to time I use winscp, but just when I've to move files to my router and must set different rights for different files/dirs.

thx, I'll do an update...got the message for new update several months ago, but my routers teached me: never change a running system. LOL :o
