hi all !
i just bought wl500gp and spend several days reading this forum and FAQs in a desperate attempts to configure it. i am quite expirienced as windows XP user, but have almost no knowlege of networking/internet stuff and have absolutely no expiriense with linux.
i bought external usb 2.0 drive (120gb) FAT32 and connected it to wl500gp.
since it is impossible to connect to my internet provider via original asus firmware i had to install Olegs firmware.
after it i managed to configure ftp server (now i'm proud of myself:D)
so here are the questions i cand resolve :
1. i planned to use wl500gp for downloading torrents, but after i changed to Oleg firmware i cannot use Asus download master for it:eek: - so what are the alternatives ?
(let me specify it i want to use fat32 ext drive and would like to use simple program (just as simple as download master) ??
2.where can i find simple FAQ to do this? maybe it already exists and i just missed it:rolleyes:

THanx a lot

Hi,

which tutorial did you follow in order to get the oleg firmware installed?

most of the tutorials which cover this install also have a section about 'Transmission' which is a torrent daemon which downloads torrents.

take a look here:

Transmission is probably the best choice for torrents:

ipkg install transmission

I advice you to format the disk as 'ext3' to avoid troubles.
