Can I do this?

Ok, I haven't bought this router yet, but this is what I'm hoping it can do.

I first attach an 500GB External HDD to it. Can this torrent files while the computer is off? When the files are done downloading, are the immediately able to be accessed? I want to be able to stream the movies I download to it from my XBOX 360 via UpnP (Does it support this?)

Now, I also want to be able to start being able to download files remotely. (Such as from another place like School). Does this support uTorrent Web? Finally, when I attach the External Hard Drive, does it just show up as an network drive?

answer: You can install 'twonkyvision' on it. Probably will
work. check www.twonkyvision.com. you can use the 'asus wl hdd' download from their site.

Now, I also want to be able to start being able to download files remotely. (Such as from another place like School). Does this support uTorrent Web?
answer: No, but there is a package available called 'transmission'

Finally, when I attach the External Hard Drive, does it just show up as an network drive?
answer: yes, if you activate samba.


Note: You have to get yourself familiar with basic linux commands and use the alternative 'oleg' firmware to fully use all features.

Is it posible to atatch a hard drive with 3 part like u said and record some

video streams on the drive trough ip cameras(maybe compress the files) and

serve them through an open port via FTP? :confused:

Like a surveillance system ran directly from the drive hooked up via USB to the ASUS
