how to connect to asus wl-500gP

i cant connect to the router, somebody can help me?

i try using telnet using microsoft and putty but the router reject the connection

Have you updated to oleg firmware? original asus firmware does not accept telnet connections ;)

yes the router is brand new, and i m trying to connect, the first time.

i have access to the asus configuration when i connect with the windows explorer, but i couldn't connect with telnet.

i'm following the wl-500g premium how to part one instructions in order to load the oleg firmware.

i have two questions 1- how to backup the original firmware 2- the next step is load the oleg firmware, i do this task in the explorer System Setup/Firmware upgrade?

Open a dos-windows and enter ipconfig.
Provided you've enabled dhcp on your win-machine, you can enter the gateway-ip (192.168.1.1) into your inet-explorer.
User admin, pw admin

Then you should be able to flash to Olegs fw in a very simple way.
But first of all, I strongly suggest to read for instance wengis howto, just to know what and how you can achieve everything.
