I want to block some adds from know adresses like the ones from
"http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?...."

So I added "googlesyndication" and "pagead" to the URL Keyword List, but I still get those adds!!

How can I enforce the filtering? (I'm using the wl500g in client mode)

(btw, "Enable URL Filter?" is set to "yes"...)

hm?

are you trying to block google who is paying the bandwidth you use?

anyway URL blocking does not work in certain firmwares, as I have no idea which one you are using I can't tell you

please read FAQ! and especially the upper sticky message in the FAQ

I'm using: firmware 1.8.1.7-2a in a WL-500G.

btw, I did read the FAQ, at least most of it... and found a lot of usefull info.

okay if you also read this thread: 325 you would have read that you have to supply enough information

anyway

URL filter does not work in current custom firmwares, and probably never will be in the future because of a decision taken by Oleg far in the past

why are you so bothered by GoogleAds?
They help people like me to keep boards running which are consuming bandwidth like hell (guess who's paying right now ?)

guess you're right..

I tested that url because it was the first I could think off...
it was just in front of me... :o

Anyway, when I get some time I'll try to compile "wwwoffle" or "polipo" for the WL500, and run a proxy server (with the help of a usb stick)....
These apps do that and much more...

you could also place certain URL's in hosts file of your PC..
