what type or spec on the memory i need?
has anyone done this perfectly?
and what will you gain in upgrading the memory? in what way will it help?

In a few words - memory upgrade is a complex task, you have to use DDR memory 32Mx16 organization:

several people perform successful upgrade, but sometimes it took above 4-8 hours...
