Hello all,

I am wandering is anybody has tried or even succeeded in using an external USB video card and USB sound card to output video from the Asus to TV / projector and get of course the sound also working? Would the little Asus box have enough power to achieve such tasks?

My long term objective is to have a device like the media player from http://www.kiss-technology.com/
so I am wandering if with some tweaking and customization the Asus can actually achieve outputting at least some type to the TV?

I've read about audio in this forum, people using it as an mp3 player with a web interface to control it,

but never heard of / read of video,

although, being a nice thought, I don't think it will work.

with its 266mhz processor and 32mb of ram and no hardware video decoding it simply doesn't have the power to play the modern video-formats.

not to mention, how do you control it? you must have some kind of input device.

Thinking of it, when you spend the money on router, that usb-video card, an external harddisk, you can get a network media player (when all bought new)

Nevertheless, the asus router is still a wonderfull piece of hardware which can serve many purposes, only not this one.

Won't work very good because of the lack of power...
Try searching for a device like the D-Box 2 or Dreambox...
