Bekijk de volledige versie : Linux kernel sources
Guys, I've successfully built the kernel which is identical to the one supplied by ASUS. I've not tried to build the firmware on top of it, but I think it will work fine. In the mean time I will try this and then I will post the patch against linksys 1.42.3 wrt54g kernel sources, so everyone will be able to build the right kernel.
Nevertheless, we still can't rebuild all the remaining stuff - such as httpd. One of the possible solution will be using wrt54g router software with an addition of the usb related stuff.
Good news, Oleg! :) Thanks for your work! I am looking forward for next updated version... The most wanted is newer wl_apsta.o integrated in filesystem and perhaps some library needed for name resolving problem fix... ;)
Why ASUS still not hire you to their R&D?:(
That will let their network product more and more strong.:D

As for name resolving - I will check on this, possibly we just need to copy just another shared library. AP & STA functionality are going to the next release as well. :)

Hi Oleg,
good job, which kind of problem do you have?
I think, that httpd, sshd ant other servers is independent on kernel. Bud its depends on uCLib and gcc version. I am now very busy, but next week, I tried to compile all Linksys source, and make WL500b firmware with suport of client mode, power regulation (and I hope with SSHD)

Absolutely.
The patch against the Linksys WRT54G 1.42.3 sources to build the ASUS WL-500g kernel & modules is here http://jaffar.cs.msu.su/wl500g/wl500g.diff.gz . This is really experimental and was not fully tested. Router directory is broken, so you can't rebuild the applications, just the kernel.
P.S. Antiloop, feel free to put the patch on your site and change the above link.
Oleg, please post patch file for 500b, too. I am able to add files to router tree but I need to add things to kernel.
Thanks.
Kernels are the same for whole wl300/500 series.
Regards,
Oleg.
