HI everybody,

I live in a house with another people and I would like to share the internet with them. However I don't want them to download too much so I want to limit them by 2 GB per week. E.g. if someone reach the 2GB limit, let's say on Thursday, then the router (wl-500gP) will automatically lower the maximum download speed for this IP (or MAC) address. And the next week the user will start again with the maximum possible speed. My question is - is this possible with the wl-500gP? If yes, how could it be done? What firmware or maybe some scripts? I have only basic knowledge about networks and unix, so I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Ok, I've managed to count the statistics for every single IP. My actual question is - can I add the bandwidth rule without restarting the router? Is there any command or script which would set the maximum download speed for the specific IP without restarting the router?

If not, can I at least create some bandwidth rules (or classes) and then dynamically move the given IP address between these rules?

Thanks.
