is there a way to make my asus wl-500gp log each (successfull) attemp to print on shared printer? the log should include ip of the "customer" and number of pages...

i've done some research on my own and found those entries in syslog:
date&time: p9100d[285]: Connection from 192.168.1.2 port 4948 accepted
date&time: p9100d[285]: Finished job: 47163 bytes received

how many pages were printed? (1 in fact, but how to find out?)
i need to know ip and number of pages printed from it.

anyone give me a hand pls, perhaps some script may do, but i'm just a newbye

hm, p910nd actually just passes packages to the printer, so it is no real print server with its own spool - that means i can't find out real amount of pages printed..?

maybe the solution would be cups, right now taking look at it
