Hi All!

I have one simple question regarding the ASUS WL-500gP.
I have really slow speeds through the Wi-Fi interface(the max was 3.6MB/s, but it gets slower at some time...around 1MB/s). I have the WL-500gP in my flat in a panel house, the range is about 7meters through 2 walls. Im using a FST Amilo NTB with Atheros integrated Wi-Fi.

The question is:
Is is it possible or did u notice any bandwidth improvement by installing the Oleg's firmware?
Or do u have some tips how to improve it?

Thanks in advance.

Martan.

You should define speed.
Are you copying, downloading, ftp etc..

wifi is always slower than cable. with cable you will probably
not get more than around 2.5-3.5 MB/sec. (i am using oleg firmware)

try fixing the channel of your wifi to e.g. 6 (on the wl500).
neighbours with wireless routers could interfere...

I tried upload&download through totalcmd. Also maybe the slowdowns are affected by the difference in OS's. My computer uses XP Prof SP2 the NTB is using Vista Home Premium.
When I tried the LAN interface between this two computers pluged in the router, im gaining speed about 8-9MB/s through the totalcmd. I've also tried the DC hub which I ran on the PC and the clients on PC and NTB. The dc++ was giving me the teoretical limit for the 100mbit ethernet interface thus 10-11.5MB/s for upload and download.

About the Wi-Fi interface I was setting/reseting it with diferent parameter last evening and did not gained any advantage in the bandwith. :(
