note: do not change the my.router host those are always used
note: be carefull when downloading the PROC directory, it can end up in an endless loop.

BE CAREFULL!!!! THE FTP WILL BE OPEN AT BOTH LAN AND WAN SIDES OF YOUR ROUTER!!

I can't seem to get it (FTP) working.
I'm running frimware 1.7.5.6.
Klicking these links in order does not enable the ftp server. Am i doing something wrong?
I'm trying to get the ssh server running, but I can'r even get the FTP server to run :confused:

you'd better upgrade to 1.7.5.6CR2

these links haven't been tested on anything higher than 1.6.5.3 so i can't confirm it..

I upgraded the firmware manly beacuse the VPN passthrough was not working with the original one (an my dad needs that to be able to cantact his office)
Could I just downgrade to 1.6.5.3? And would the vpn-passthrough remain working?

What I'm actually trying to do is: Having a webcam make a snapshot every 10 seconds and upload it to my webspace (via FTP), cause otherwise a few people watching it will eat away my bandwidth.

you can just downgrade yes, probably vpn passthrough dies
so you should use CR2 then if you want telnet etc..

but this should not be discussed here, if you have further questions ask them in the Q&A forum

I have klicked all Links, but the FTP diden`t run!
The Firmware ist the actuelly 1.7.56 RC5 by Oleg.

I test it from the LAN and WAN site. and with a restart.

note that those clickable url's should not be used anymore at 1.7.5.6 or higher as they don't even have a use anymore..

this was used in the time that no telnet/ssh was available or even a custom firmware..

I run the latest Asus firmware and no way I can get ftp working at all :)
