I recommended the 500g to a friend of mine after being so pleased with mine (:D), but we have run into a small problem.

The router works fine until you set up a password protected wireless network. If you leave the network unprotected, there are no problems connecting, but as soon as you set up the password, it hangs on "Acquiring Network Address". Then you need to connect to the router directly as the wireless no longer responds, and go back into the wl500g setup and remove the password.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this might be happening?

It sounds quite much like a problem with the NIC driver of the host than a problem with the WL-500g.

Ok, so to try to troubleshoot the problem I had my buddy bring over his laptop and his router. I was hoping that we would be able to at least get his laptop to be able to connect to my router (which I know works for sure), but it still didn't work. Froze on acquiring network address, exact same thing.

I updated all of the drivers for his NIC, no change. Anybody have any other ideas, I don't even know where to start troubleshooting this?
