Hi folks,

just recently I did an update on ipkg on my wl500gp and now on almost every ipkg install I get:

mkdir: Cannot create directory `/root': Read-only file system
Fixing permissions on the /tmp directory...

Almost all other features (samba etc.) do work. Besides running for example svnserve (which is a real bummer !) results in:

can't load library 'libiconv.so.2'

Any remedy for either issue would be greatly appreciated :-)

Thx

Zigster

PS: Olegs Firmware (latest) is on !

Hi
I had a similar problem with ipkg, http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=10968

The only solution I found was to simply re-format the drive. I plugged the USB-disk into my computer and checked it with partition magic (since e2fsck gave me segmentation fault). I really don't know if it was neccesary, but I formatted it with NTFS, did a chkdsk /r, discovered several errors on the disk, and did a new ext3 partition. Now it's working like a charm.

Suggest you listen to someone else though, if you don't want all your information to be lost. Good luck.

Hi @all,

as suggested by LinusW, reformatting did the trick... !
