Connect another non wireless router to the ASUS wl500gX

I need to add another router (not a wireless router) to my network. But how do I do that? The bridge feature in the webinterface allows to bridge only wireless routers, right? So the question is: How to connect a second non wireless router to my ASUS wl500g deluxe?

Take a network cable and connect them (crossover, switch or router with autodetection).
Ajust IP and subnetmask. Same IP Net but different IPs for the routers.
Use ONLY ONE router for DHCP in the LAN!!!

Depending on why you want to do this, you have to set some routes. But more information is needed to discuss this.
