WL-500g Bridge

hi. i recently bought a wl 500 and i want to connect it to other Access Point by Wireless and distribute the signal. Like a Repeater.

It is possible to do that?

i manage to associate to a ssid by the command

wl ap 0
wl wet 1
wl scan
wl scanresults
wl join SSID

and in wireless status appear

Mode : Hybrid
Channel : 3

Stations List
----------------------------------------
Associated Station
************************* - the SSID i pick to connect.

but how do i use that connection from the desktop i'm using?
i try to connect to the router, i try to put the ip on the ethernet card.
nothing works.

can anybody help me? how do i use the modem as a client and distribute the signal to the ethernet ports or if i can distribute the signal by wireless.

Connecting one AP to another over WiFi needs WDS. You did't tell what brand/model the other AP is, but it must support WDS (Wireless Distribution System). Some models do (only) support 'lazy'-WDS and for others you must add the MAC-address of the other side of the 'bridge'.
Unlike what others say; the SSID may differ. I use this myself to have it clear what AP I'm connected to. They must both use the same channel. WEP-encryption is supported, WPA not.
I'm told this sort of bridging costs half of the speed, haven't verified that.
It is also possible to use routing, so you create a different network-address at the other end.

i manage to do that. the ap is a sitecom.

i manage to associate the router to the ap but how do to my desktop connect to the router and the router use the internet connection from the ap.

My settings of the ASUS being the remote (wireless bridged) AP:

wl ap 1 NOT 0
wl wet 0 NOT 1

wl0_mode = ap NOT hybrid, but the other AP=hybrid.
