I've tried to flash router with web page using openwrt trx file, and now router is in unusable state. When I turn it on, HDD spins, but pinging 192.168.1.1 fails. When I press EZ-Setup button, the router turns off (as if it was reset). If I try to turn the router with EZ-Setup button down, it doesn't. When I press the Reset and turn the power on, the Ready LED starts blinking, pinging 192.168.1.1 succeeds until I depress the Reset button. After that router reboots.

Sooo, what should I do now?

I've noticed a strange thing: when I turn the router and left it alone for awhile, the HDD stops spinning after some time.. :/

Update: I was wrong about HDD stopped spinning.

try to press the ez-setup button for exactly 5 time blinking (unpress it at the 5th time) and try to install the openwrt.trx file or the asus.1.0.4.2 trx file...

The problem is when I press ez-setup button while the router is on, it simply goes off. And when I try to press ez-setup button and power simultaneously, it just doesn't power on.

If I press the power button without any other buttons down, Power LED lights up, then, after a few seconds, the Ready LED lights up too. But device is not pinging.

Will try ettercap or something to find out, weither anything happening on this interface (like ARP or something)...

Update: ethereal shows that after powering on, the unit sends using UDP broadcast to 192.168.1.255 the message 'Press reset to enter FailSafe!'. When I press the RESET, the router reboots.

If I disconnect the power from unit, then connect it with RESET button down, the system fires ARP request 'Who has 192.168.1.1', when I release the reset button, it waits for 2 or 3 seconds and goes to reboot.

you have to plug out (wait 20-30 sec) then plug in and then press the reset button...

i think the reset won't work when you have installed the openwrt trx file...

And what should I do next? When I press the reset button and hold it, and then, after the ARP packet identifiing the router as 192.168.1.1 arrives, I run the "tftp -i 192.168.1.1 put openwrt-brcm-2.4-squashfs.trx". Ethereal shows the UDP packets being sent to 192.168.1.1, but there were no response to them. No actual data were transfered, just a request to transfer "openwrt-brcm-2.4-squashfs.trx" file...

Positive, device simply doesn't power up with ez-setup button pressed.

Actually, that was the first thing I've tried.
