Hi guys,
After 2 days of tinkering with my 500gp, y have ADOS - transmission - 128mb - all up and running.
One thing tough, the transmission do not check automatically the finished jobs, y have torrents (the ones with alot of .rar) bad, but y wait for the version 1.10 to be compiled and ready to upgrade, hurry Oleg .
The scope of this post is another one, BIG THANKS to oleg, to marcnesium, to wengi and everyone who participate to this forum with pertinent work and information.
This is a great job you archieved here guys, keep up the GREAT job.

This y think will become thread for thanks, and maybe will inspire the guys who think this is too hard and is not worthit.
This is archieved with low skills in linux, and strong skills in electronics and soldering
The only mod i do not doit is overcloking to 300Mhz, i think the 10% of processing power not worth in balance with killing the machine or risk sacrifice the stability, this is much more important in my point of view (i even install radiators on processor to improve cooling).

LE. I forgot to say - my transmission is 5332 y think, the one from repository of oleg, and y installed two times but still no auto check.
LLE. One thing more, the router start when i connect the external hdd, being powered by usb, this is normal i think but still i dont chek the schematiscs, maybe this is not a risk anyway (the peak load of 2 amps on power source of hhd may be too high for some)

Y see the version 1.10 is in repository allready, tnx Oleg .
Have to wait until tomorow, because i have few torrents 80% witch y dont want to loose, y will post you with results.
This time of response y find only on company with big motivation

One more thing to say, the 500gp work flawlesy for 30 day today, y wait before being happy , with 80-90% cpu load (maybe y put too much on this thing, y will lower the tasks), but in terms of "energy eficiency" beat from miles any intel/amd/via machine and services on this firmware make the work with ("the thing" say my wife) a pleasure, and shes not a geek in any means

LE: The 128mb ram is the limit adressable by this cpu ? i love to put maybe 512m on this thing, she deserveit

Back with impressions.
After 1 night looks maybe too beautiful ..
Instalation work straight with :
ipgk update
ipkg upgrade
The big diferrence:
Speeds look better, but this i think come from the lower usage of cpu, the load with 3 torrents (30 peers/10 seeds medium, samba off, ftp on, php.cgi for ados on ) from 80-90% drop to 40-50% lol.
The usage of memory looks lower too, but the 40-50 % cpu idle time looks maybe too beautiful, must be a draw back .
On this moment the only thing in my mind is "is too good to be true"
A thing though, the button promised by developers of transmission (force check local data) y dont see, maybe this is to do in transmission.cgi, have to work on this ..
Will return after a while with more impresssions.
But until then this is the way to go, thank you guys.

After 48 hours of multiple torrent download, everything look ok.
The load on cpu is still low, max 50% with 3 torrents/30-40 peers medium per torrent, now i will put more on the 500gp to do, not stoping jobs .
Autocheck can be done by command transmissioncli -y, will be nice to find a button in the cgi interface.
Another good effect is the response of samba/http is improved, being benefit of the free procesing power.
So i recommand to everyone to update to 1.10 transmission version.
In this moment this is the "perfect machine" for downloads, thank you Oleg for the hard and excelent work you put in this, and share with us.
My power supplier will be angry on you Oleg, the p3 machine i use until now for downloads consume around 80w (forgeting the permanent noise of cpu cooler)

Was to good to be true ..
After few days and 2 or 3 restarts because power loss (i remediate this with a UPS) partition 3 get massive corruption, all was lost.
So y do everything again, all is up and running, but now with pre-shutdown inspired by al37919.
But i observe now a good thing in this experience, all was ready in 60 minutes including upgrade to fw ver. -10 .
Will be a great thing to have a ease way (maybe a button in transmission.cgi or something) to unmount hdd before reboot, because i beleave "reboot" command in a prompt will go to corruption.
Must be a more elegant way to archieve this anyway....
And one more thing, ALL (more then 30) torrents with alot of .rar pieces is broken ... i have no ideea way this happen ... but with mtorrent in win the same torrents is flawless ...

After some time, things looks strange:
99% of downloaded torrents is bad ...
I put everything in win/utorrent, do a check there and look like 99.xx ok, but few pieces missing, and y complete jobs there..
The torrents is big (1-10gb) and is from different trackers, i cant figure out what is wrong here,or how to prevent this, maybe some help guys ?
Besides this asus is stable, no error logs related to this (only pieces with wrong crc from time to time, but this is normal), no reset needed or any intervention from about 1 week.
The Hdd involved is new, a WD 160 gb on a external no name USB/IDE adapter, but things is tested, is not a hardware failure.
Doing a transmissioncli -y for the one bad torrent result in downloading ALL data again, so this is not what i search for ...
Any ideea ?
And another one: is normal with 2 active torrents to use swap (about 5 mb) ? I have 128Mb ram on board, with samba on.
LE: i use the latest (11.1) version of transmission

After one month i still wait for help, or just one ideea ..
Meantime i do a clean full reinstall, begining with fw (-10) and fdisk again from scratch, but the downloaded torrents is still not full.
Logs look perfect, all partition is reported clean, i umount part2 and part3 and recheck, nothing bad here ...

Look like we all must wait for 1.20 to be compiled, despites the version reported for this bug is 1.10 for me is there too (i use 1.11).
This is an extras for list of closed bugs on version 1.20.

Maybe it's worthing to give a try to rtorrent, transmission is not the only one BT client!
If you want to try you can find a quick "How To" here.
But if you like rtorrent+ntorrent and want to keep them, I suggest you to read more about S99rtorrent.
Feel free to ask, if you don't get it!
