BTW, official RT-N66U firmware uses oleg optware feed! The same as Oleg's or old enthusiasts firmware.
actually they use both - their own (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wir...RT/Packages.gz, inaccessible at the moment) and oleg's feeds.

it's not the same thing as the oleg ipkg feed...
first of all, a start and stop script instead of a script
it felt different to me as well, years ago, when I decided to give dd-wrt a quick 5 minute try

SDK 5.110 has already been/being worked on OLEG fw you can see it here:

    http://code.google.com/p/wl500g/source/detail?r=4326 (and several others)

We are all ancious here, but i guess we still need to wait a few months to be released or not... Only lly & theMir0n can tell, lets wait for it...

PS: I'm using Tomato Shibby 095 here (with new Broadcom 5.100.138.20 SDK drivers) and so far so good.

Today i tested two RT-N66U Rev 3.00 (mine and my friend) and i noticed a significant wireless signal difference between both devices, i placed both on the EXACT SAME place, same antenas position, firmware and configuration and with mine i can get 55-59 RSSI and with the other 59-63 RSSI, i tested several times and i got always the same difference. Intesting how same hardware performs so different

Even the same channel? since that does matter

Sure, you missed this part: "same antenas position, firmware and configuration"

nah I didn't miss that part
Did you use a configuration file? That file doesn't seem to work for me completely, it leaves some settings on default

  12. #267
No, i simply reset to defaults and clean nvram and then manually setup both routers with same configuration

    I noticed something else.
Someone on a dutch forum claimed that switching to US mode and putting the power up to 500mW would actually increase the output.
My measurements with my WiSpy showed otherwise for my router:
    500mW (US): https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwM...3lfWkxYTEZIRGc
    100mW (EU): https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwM...FZFR0V4ZkNlUGs

    lower output on 500mW
it's a different channel so perhaps not entirely valid... but it's weird

Open telnet (you can turn it on in the administration of the router)
before you do anything you might want to check this value and make note of it:
    nvram get pci/1/1/ccode
    To change to us:
    nvram set pci/1/1/ccode=US
    nvram set pci/2/1/ccode=US
    nvram set wl0_country_code=US
    nvram set wl1_country_code=US
    nvram set regulation_domain=US
    nvram set regulation_domain_5G=US
    nvram commit

do a reboot and your router will allow 500mW for 2.4GHz and 250mW for 5.2GHz connections.
Please keep in mind that the US allows different network channels, especially for 5GHz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...2Fh.2Fj.2Fn.29

to go back to eu mode is easy:
    nvram set pci/1/1/ccode=EU
    nvram set pci/2/1/ccode=EU
    nvram set wl0_country_code=EU
    nvram set wl1_country_code=EU
    nvram set regulation_domain=EU
    nvram set regulation_domain_5G=EU
    nvram commit
