    telnet troubles

For some reason, i cannot telnet into my box running Kfurge's firmware, even though "/apps/bin/utelnetd -i br0 &" is in the rc.local. i get a PuTTY Fatal Error: Network Error: Connection Refused.
I have tried reflashing the firmware with no luck. I upgraded to 2.0.0.7, and was able to telnet into the box, but the rc.local did not have any effect, and the new firmware was horrendously limiting the bandwidth of each connected computer to 10kB/s.

So, if there is a problem within a file one the box, i could edit it with the 2.0.0.7 telnet ability to be able to switch back to the custom firmware with working telnet, but I am still fairly new with *nix systems and don't have any idea as to what is blocking my telnet daemon from starting on the custom firmware.

    any ideas?

    1) you can't run the rc.local with the 2.0.0.7 only kfurge firmware is modified.

    2) i think you have the wrong format (not windows editor) for the rc.local and thats the reason why telnet won't work with the custom 1.0.4.6.

yep, i had one windows/dos type return character in the rc.local

i can now telnet in and rc.local is starting properly.

    thanks
