    Hide cron from log?

Hi, I have installed the "cron - 4.1-5 - Standard vixie cron, with cron.d addition" and I run a job which fixes ipables and kill some processes and sees to that others are running. This is done every 10'th minute to assure that my knockd is running. Do anyone know how to hide the cron-job from the log?

I do want logger to write if a change is made, and I do that from within the script, but I do not want to have an entry every 10'th minute if nothing is updated (I also run spin down HDD so every logwrite keeps the HDD spinning)

You can switch to syslog-ng, which allows filtering by source and many things more. Take a look at it.
If I remember correctly, if you use the full featured cron, you can use a "-" at the beginning of a line to prevent logging that entry.

I have installed syslog-ng and need tips to configurate this for the WL-700gE with custom firmware. I know I need to kill the ordinary syslogd but I cannot get the S01syslog-ng to start properly, it reports command not found.

Has anyone implemented syslog-ng successfully on the WL-700gE?

Appreciate a few (or more) hints to get this working.
