Thread: failed setup after upgrade

    Question failed setup after upgrade

    I just installed 1.9.2.7-7f firmware and have access to the drive via the web interface & putty.

    I tried to do a new setup of the drive following the jono-wiki guide. Apparently something went wrong because this is what I see if I access the drive via putty and type df:

    Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/root 3008 3008 0 100% /
    [admin@piscina root]$

    I am a bit lost. I tried to go over the jono-wiki procedure again (fdisk etc.), but it doesn't let me. This whole thing is my first linux experience and I am a lost!

    What should I do?

    Can you find any errormessage if you type 'dmesg'?

    The ide part should look like this:
    Code:
    ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx
    PDC20265: IDE controller on PCI bus 01 dev 08
    PCI: Enabling device 01:01.0 (0004 -> 0007)
    PDC20265: chipset revision 2
    PDC20265: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
    PDC20265: ROM enabled at 0x000d0000
    PDC20265: (U)DMA Burst Bit DISABLED Primary PCI Mode Secondary PCI Mode.
    PDC20265: FORCING BURST BIT 0x00 -> 0x01 ACTIVE
        ide0: BM-DMA at 0x0140-0x0147, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio

    What do you mean it doesn't let you? What errors do you get?

    I found Jonos Wiki very useful, but you do need to make sure you type everything correctly. Often one missing character can make all the difference.
