I noticed that the WL500 is achieving much better throughtput when using WEP encryption. When transferring files from one PC to the other i achieve 9Mbps with WPA and 12Mbps with WEP

I assume this is because WPA has greater CPU cost. I'm thinking of buying a wl5oo premium which has faster CPU. Does this also affect the premium ?
