monitor wireless packets from LAN ?

    Hi all,

    I have a strange problem.
With my wireless PDA I can ping all wired connections connected to my WL500G
I CAN NOT ping my wireless pc from my wireless PDA through my WL500g (setup as router)

Is there a way to monitor packets or traffic coming into the wifi of the wl500g and then see where it goes ?

I can only switch on firewall logging but not for packets coming from LAN side.

    Set AP Isolated?

What about "Set AP Isolated?" at Wireless -> Advanced tab. Is set to NO?

No it is set to "yes"

I thought it was only meant for inter accesspoint communication. Which should not be possible ?

Should it be set to no ?

you wrote: "I CAN NOT ping my wireless pc from my wireless PDA"

so both are connected via Wireless.

"Set AP Isolated?" - it means, that wireless-connected PC/PDA will not see each other connected via Wireless. Set it to "NO" and try it again plz

Bubble-help says: "Selecting YES to prevent wireless clients from comunicating with each other."

    It works now. Thanks.

Although I still don't get it.
My pda talks to my wifi of the wl500g. Which then sends the data through (via wifi) to the pc. Am I right ?

I thought it only prevented other AP talking to my wl500g. Why should I not want an wifi PC talk via my wl500g to another PC ??

I think I get it: Wifi devices can only talk to the AP and all wired pc on the lan. Although I don't see the use of it.

    Thanks for the help

I'm happy that my advice helped you to make it to work.
I think, that this setting good if you have some people connected via wireless to internet, but if they download from each other, the load to Asus will be to high... sorry for my English, hope you understand what I mean
