Wireless throughput

It look like i only can get about 6Mb/s through the wireless conection to my mediacenter when i'm streaming a dvd file, i've expected about 25Mb/s, so it permormes not bether than my old d-link 11mb accesspoint.
What am i missing

Edit: 6 megabytes/second translate to a 48 megabit/second which is pretty close to the max. 54 megabit/second of which the radio is capable. So it is way faster then your old 11 megabit/second AP (~ 1 megabytes/second).
