if bandwidth control or QoS can be avalible for the each LAN port and MAC control is not only for the wireless, that will be much better. do they have the possibility to add to the firmware and use the web management as normal?
New firmware is available here . Rootfs is here. This is mostly security fix release. It's strongly recomended to update to this latest firmware for everyone who is using ssh. Sources & docs is available here.
- LPR protocol printing support added back (so, ASUS printing stuff co-exists with RAW)
- Updated dnsmasq to 2.9
- Updated dropbear to 0.43 (fix security bug found in dropbear ssh daemon).
Important thing in this firmware is that I've added ASUS printing stuff back, i.e. you can now choose what to use LPR printing (stock firmwares, slow, does not work with many USB printers) or RAW printing (custom firmware, fast, work for most USB printers, but sometimes does not work with LPT printers (unclear reason)). Personally I'm recommending using RAW printing, but if does not work for you, then try LPR with "LPRServer" as queue name and let me know if it works better.

There is no QoS support in this firmware.
Will there be in the (nearby) future??Originally Posted by Oleg
Probably. I'm now hold waiting for 1.8.x.x sources. I believe they should be in good shape and allow easy kernel-user-space combining required for QoS compiling
Bigpond support for the <1% that use it please, I like your fireware but don't know enough how to add the bpalogin program to the package.
Thanks for your work, Oleg! BTW, what about the serial driver? It seems you did not put it back yet...
Technik, I had an impression, that you've recompiled everything yourself, so I've not included it...
Well, so far I recompiled only original kernel without patches (just played with kernel configuration to get some modules compiled) so it was quite easy...Originally Posted by Oleg
Well, I will prepare complete kernel patch for you and instructions for recompiling kernel. So, you will be able to compile firmware yourself. Ok?
It would be great, Oleg! Thanks a lot in advance!
How can i make transparent router without nat with this firmware? So sorry for my bad english :-)
In the same way as with stock firmwares.
Check this. Let me know if you've any problems.Originally Posted by Technik
Also in the kernel config you will need to add something like console=/dev/ttyS0,115200 to the init string and enable serial options (see original kernel config for this, it's named defconfig-bcm947xx).
hereby i will introduce the PHPWIKI system which has been sleeping for 3/4 months now
the page linked by Oleg is also present here (and editable, please do not screw up offcourse.. add your findings etc.. )
