    Read Only File System

I have just installed the firmware from oleg: 1.9.2.7-7f-pre4

Nu i want to install ctorrent but when i do ipkg.sh update [enter] i get the response:

    [admin@(none) root]$ ipkg.sh update
mkdir: Cannot create directory `//opt/tmp/': Read-only file system

    what is the problem?
also i want to configure samba for my usb harddisk but i couldn't find the config file.
Windows do not see my samba...

i am new with linux and just want to learn it.

Very nice, but how did you get it working? I have the same problem as you (read only file system when trying to make a directory). Mounting to an existing dir like /tmp/harddisk fails with 'invalid argument'.

    Got it working

Use mke2fs with -j option. It helped also a great deal to use fdisk and format the drives from the telnet session on the router instead of, as I first tried, partition and format them using a tool like Partition Magic on your PC.
Very important is to create a smbpasswd file and change smb.conf (security = users) as told elsewhere on this and macsat sites. Works great now.
