    Question Webcam with WDS Client

    Hi!
I´m using ASUS WL500G as Router with PPPOE Access in Hybrid Mode together with my WL-HDD in Hybrid Mode. On the second device i hooked an USB Webcam. This is working fine internally but there is no access from Outside (WAN). The webcam is working with the WL500G (with dyndns access through WAN) but this is at the wrong place.... I´ve already tried to route the port 7776 to the WL-HDD with no success. Has anyone a solution for this wired scenario?

    ciao,
    JBK

Can i modify this value inside a file with telnat command ?

    WL-500g and USB Webcam problems

I have WL-500g 1.9.2.7-6b and Lifetec LT9388 USB camera. I found this camera working on router but unfortunetly only twice. After upgrading software it worked but after reseting completly not working. Camera working OK on win Xp.
How can I start it manualy on this software.
    Any others ideas?

When worked I found in log

    Webcam activity alert.

I have installed a Logitech pro 4000 webcam, and it is working ok except for one thing. When movement is detected, and an email is sent, I cannot open the jpg files that are attached to the mail. In the mail there are 6 small jpg files. Is that right? I would have expected one only.
Does anybody have experience with this?
I am using Olegs firmware 1.9.2.7-6b.
    Thanks - Peter.

    Webcam makes WAN speed drop

I have a Philips ToUcamII which works perfectly with my WL500Gx. However, I noticed that the WAN speeds are affected by the cam. When it is connected, my maximum up -and download speeds are half (or worse) of what they should be. My other devices (USB Hub, printer, USB stick, USB HDD) do not cause this speed drop.

Does anybody what could cause this?

how fast or slow is your connection (kilobyte/sec please) ?
and how fast or slow is it when a webcam is attached, and is the webcam in use somehow internal or external?

"Before" it is around 3000 Kbyte down and 1400 kbyte up
"After" it is around 1400 kbyte down and 400 Kbyte up.

Just plugging it in does the trick

Still the same problem. Any ideas? I have it as well when I use the old and the latest Asus fimware.... just doesn't make any sense...

    same with me.
as i posted before, the webcam apps causing the cpu use above 60%
    also very high memory usage.

my (non expert, non programmer) guess,
    that's the cause
    aztech adsl router -> asus wl500g w/ 1.9.2.7-5a fw -> linksys wrt54g w/ dd-wrt & hyperwrt as WDS

Hadn't checked that, but could be a good reason indeed...
