Enabling FTP only on LAN side

    Hi all

Maybe this is known by all of you, but in case some of you haven't thought of this, here is a small piece of advice:

On my machine I wanted to make an FTP server for the internal network, but this should not be accessible from the world. This is not directly possible on the router, but there is a way of doing this anyway.

The way to do it, is to enable the FTP server and then set up a virtual server under NAT Setting. The Local IP should be an unused IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.200), the port should be 21 and the protocol TCP. This will completely stealth the port 21, since all traffic is routed to a computer that doesn't exist.

I have also used this trick to stealthing the SSH port on Oleg's customized software version.
