This depends on what do you want and expect.
As for wl500g - buy deluxe version, it's something like wrt54gs, but it has 2 usb 2.0 ports.

and which one of them is more stable ?

    Stability is the same..

    Hi

    I have had both routers.

I find stability is the same for both routers.

I do however find, that the wireless performance is better on the ASUS WL-500g deluxe.

Also I think that latency seems a bit lower on the ASUS.

I like linksys. Why? Because there are a lot of firmwares to choose from and in my case works better than the asus. Only if it had usb...
    If you need usb...asus....

I used to have a couple of WRTs. Some might know my Dual Serial Port Mod page for the WRT (http://www.rwhitby.net/wrt54gs/serial.html).

I sold them and bought an Asus WL500g, and then an Asus WL500g Deluxe.

    The reasons? Three:

1/ The Asus development community is not sending death threats to each other (yes, that is happening in the WRT development community). No need to go into the details or rights and wrongs of each side of that saga here.

2/ The Asus has USB, so it fits in well with my NSLU2 development (http://www.nslu2-linux.org).

3/ The Asus can stand vertically.

    See http://nslu2-linux.thestuffguy.com/gallery/slug-central for details :-)
